Meningococcal A Conjugate Vaccine: Updated Guidance, February 2015
This article, published in the Weekly Epidemiological Record, supplements the World Health Organization's (WHO's) earlier position paper from 2011 concerning the routine immunization of infants and young children in the African meningitis belt with meningococcal A conjugate vaccine. This update adds to the WHO's recommendation that countries completing mass vaccination campaigns introduce meningococcal A conjugate vaccine into their routine childhood immunization program within one to five years following campaign completion. It also adds recommendations regarding dosing schedule, co-administration of the vaccine with other immunizations, and vaccination of pregnant women.
